This movie doesn’t particularly have a grandiose scene that made everyone coming back for more (like The Godfather’s baptism scene or Blade Runner 2049’s Las Vegas scene). But you still love it nonetheless, it is an amazing epic about a hitman of the mafia. There is no payoff onto anything, no big final boss, every “job” felt lifeless, same as what a life would be in the mafia. This epic doesn’t glorified nor romanticized the mafia life, it is meant to show what it is like to be in the mafia back then. “Authenticizing” rather than “Glorifying“ is what The Irishman is.
